You probably wouldn't have guessed to find such a song, considering the album cover, this synth pop song probably sticks out the most in Leather Terror. But I really like this synth he used for the ending, it was very nostalgic for 80s horror movies. Hell, they literally repeat this 3 chord stuff in Night Prowler and they have both the same exact BPM.

But the beginning is too loud if listening to this song individually. Literally Day Stalker but it has a low point during the first half and a little bit more variety. Just 3 chords repeated over and over again with this higher synth that I don't really like. There is not a real structure in this song, no Low Point or Chorus. It's just repeating the same chords over and over again while always building up higher. It's very much a classic carpenter brut song, although you can tell he has improved his synths a lot, using more whistly noises and having just generally a wider range of digital instruments he's using. But I don't like this song, ironic, considering I went into the album thinking I'll only like his old-sounding stuff. If Carp had added Day Stalker to Trilogy, no one would've noticed. I don't like that the ending is so abrupt into this high noise though, it doesn't transition to the next song either, it is just there, but you get used to it quickly. The lyrics are about the fucking great depression of all things carp has always had some very unique lyrics. I also really like the buildup to where the vocals are starting halfway through, and the singer has a good voice. The song is very quiet and not very sinister either, it has a bittersweet vibe and i really enjoy it. 7.5/10ĭespite usually being very much against ambient music, I absolutely love this song, the piano with those glitchy synths and the mechanic whistle in the background sounds great. Greg Puciato absolutely smashed it, especially during the chorus. Though the perfomance of the singer is what really saves the song for me. Besides the one low point its just the singer repeating the same robotic lyrics over and over again. However Im not a fan of the synths on this one, they're too deep for me, and the song in general is just too repetitive. Same story as Widow Maker, hated at first, now I like it. If I dont want to listen to the whole album and just want to listen to one song, its usually this one. I especially like the low point and the following chorus in widow maker, however I'm not a fan of the lyrics, I think they're really odd. A lot of people have an issue with carp using vocals, the Synthwave community is a phenomenon for being the only music community that really hates vocals, but i never had an issue with them. The song is well structured and once you really get it in your head its a lot of fun to listen to. But that's the thing with carpenter, the more you hear a song of his the more you love it, i hated disco zombi italia the first time i heard it, now its my favorite song of all time. I wasn't a fan of the refrain and I also wasn't a fan of the voice. 8/10.įirst time I heard this song I really hated it. I think some quieter parts may have a bit too loud drums and some loud parts too few drums and it's a bit too sinister for me but regardless I think its a great song.

Besides that its probably Bruts hardest instrumental track, he also always manages to freshen things up, not making the song sound too monotone and slow paced, the song has strings in the background, some breaks followed by some really strong drums and a lot of energy. The beginning of the song is really weird if you don't listen to Opening Titles before it. There's really nothing to criticize it for, therefore its gotta be a 10/10 Its not really song of its own, more just an intro for the album to let you know what kind of mood and sounds to expect, and it fulfills that role perfectly. I really love this song for its hard drums, the bell and how it's always building up.
